Your Layover Has a Room: 7 Airports With a Live GateRoom

A layover is a strange kind of crowd. Hundreds of people, same terminal, same delay, same dead time — and nobody talks. GateMate was built for exactly this moment: the people around you are the point. So we put a room in the airport.
What's an airport GateRoom?
Every GateRoom is a live chatroom tied to a real place. An airport GateRoom is the one tied to your terminal — the people at your gate, on your tram, killing the same three-hour layover. Open the app, step into the room, see who's there, say hi. No feed, no algorithm, no performance — just the room you're standing in.

Land to a heads-up, not a blank screen
Save your flight in the app and when it lands you'll get one notification about what's happening in that airport's GateRoom. That's it — at most one per airport every six hours, and never while the room is closed. It runs off the airline's published arrival time, so there's no location permission and nothing watching you travel. Silence it anytime at Settings → Notifications → Travel.
How to use it on your next trip
- Before you fly: get GateMate on the App Store or Google Play and save your flight.
- At the gate: open the airport's GateRoom and see who's around — the row-mate lottery works better when you've already talked.
- When you land: one heads-up tells you what's on. Step in, or don't — the room closes when the night does.
Flying somewhere else?
The app works everywhere — any member can open a room with a code and share it tonight, in any city. More airport rooms light up as we grow. If your airport isn't on the list yet, tell us where you fly most — demand decides the map. And if your trip ends at a festival or a show, our concert playbook still applies.
