Community Guidelines

GateMate™ exists so you can meet the people around you, at the moment you're with them. GateLinks are private, opt-in spaces tied to a real event or location — not a public feed. These guidelines keep that space worth stepping into.

1. The Rules

1. Be 18+

GateMate is an 18+ platform. Age verification may be required in some jurisdictions. Accounts found to misrepresent age will be removed.

2. Be kind

No harassment, slurs, hate speech, or threats — toward other attendees, event hosts, or GateMate staff.

3. No sexually explicit content

This includes profile photos, bios, icebreaker prompt replies, and intro request messages. Zero tolerance, no exceptions.

4. No selling, scamming, or recruiting

GateMate is not a marketplace. No solicitations, MLM pitches, crypto schemes, or promotion of outside accounts or services.

5. No impersonation

Don't pretend to be a venue, event host, GateMate staff member, or another attendee.

6. Respect the room

GateLinks are temporary and opt-in by design. Don't screenshot or re-share another attendee's profile, prompt reply, or message outside the GateLink without their consent.

7. Report, don't retaliate

If someone makes you uncomfortable, use Block and Report instead of responding in kind. Reports trigger review and may result in restricted visibility while we investigate.

2. How Enforcement Works

Violations may result in a warning, temporary suspension, or permanent removal, depending on severity. Reports are reviewed by a human, typically within 24 hours. Blocking is immediate and mutual.

3. What GateMate Will Never Show

• Your location to people outside your GateLink. GateLinks aren't publicly browsable — you're only visible to members of a GateLink you've joined.
• Your profile to anyone you haven't opted in to. Visibility is opt-in per GateLink and you can toggle it off anytime.
