Child safety standards

Our commitment

GateMate has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Content or behaviour that sexualises, endangers or exploits a minor is prohibited without exception, and accounts responsible for it are permanently removed and reported to the authorities.

GateMate is an adult service

GateMate is rated 18+ and is intended only for adults. Our Terms of Service require every account holder to be 18 or older. We do not offer accounts to minors, we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and there is no path in the app to create an account as a minor. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we terminate it and delete the associated data.

What is prohibited

• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), in any form.
• Sexualised depictions or descriptions of minors, including drawn, animated or AI-generated material.
• Grooming, solicitation, sextortion, or any attempt to arrange contact with a minor for sexual purposes.
• Trafficking of minors, or the advertisement of minors for any purpose.
• Encouraging, normalising or providing instruction for any of the above.
• Creating an account, or joining a room, as a person under 18.

How to report it

Anyone can report a person, a message, a direct message or a photo from inside the app in two taps, and one of the report reasons is specifically "Someone under 18." Blocking takes effect immediately and is mutual.

Reports can also be sent directly to support@gatemate.net at any time, including by people who do not use GateMate.

How we respond

• Every report reaches a human reviewer. Our target response time is 24 hours, and reports involving a minor are escalated to the front of the queue automatically.
• Every image uploaded to GateMate, and the first frame of every video clip, is screened by automated moderation before it is stored.
• Confirmed CSAE results in immediate, permanent removal of the account and preservation of the relevant records.
• We report apparent child sexual abuse material to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by US law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A), and cooperate with law enforcement requests.
• We comply with applicable child safety laws in every market where GateMate is available.
